Karan Chakravarthy

Karan Chakravarthy is 15 years old and studying in 10th grade at the American International School of Chennai. He was born in San Francisco in the United States but has lived most of his life in Chennai, India. As a child, Karan grew up surfing and swimming in the ocean, but was saddened to see all the trash washing up from the ocean. Therefore, he joined an organization called Namma Beach Namma Chennai (translates to Our Beach Our Chennai) which helps clean trash from the beach and dispose of the waste using sustainable methods. In his free time, Karan likes to play the guitar or go swimming in the ocean. He also enjoys playing sports with his two older brothers. Joining the Youth Council has given Karan the platform to share his ideas and have a lasting impact on the world.
