Dirgha Research Group, led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Dirgha Raj Joshi, is dedicated to advancing scientific research and education in developing countries, particularly Nepal. Dr. Joshi currently serves at the Karnali Academy of Health Sciences (KAHS), Jumla, located in one of the most remote hilly regions of Nepal — a site recognized as one of the few medical colleges established at such a high altitude in the world.
Dr. Joshi earned his Ph.D. in Medicinal Chemistry from Yonsei University, South Korea, and completed his Postdoctoral Research Fellowship at the National Institutes of Health (NIH), USA. Motivated by a vision to strengthen Nepal’s scientific landscape, he returned to his homeland to mentor young researchers and establish a research-driven academic environment.
Through interdisciplinary studies in natural products chemistry, pharmaceutical sciences, and public health, Dirgha Research Group aims to bridge the global scientific community with Nepal’s unique biodiversity and traditional knowledge
