What was the purpose of this Catalyst 2030 session?
This co-creation session, facilitated by LearningPlanet, brought together youth from all Catalyst 2030 organisations participating in the Education report. This aligns with LearningPlanet’s strategy to provide spaces to connect, consult, and co-create with young game-changers. The event took place during Catalysing Change Week (CCW) 2022, the world’s largest event led by social innovators and entrepreneurs to share knowledge, exchange ideas, and accelerate collaborative systems change during more than 250 sessions and activities in a dedicated annual week.
As we are trying to reimagine the future of Education, we think it is imperative to include the voice of young learners – What do they want and need in their education? What should be included in the curriculum? How do they want to learn? Where do they want to learn? What should the role of the teachers be? What should their role be? How should they be prepared to face and shape a rapidly changing world?
The session focused on the 4 themes of the Catalyst 2030 report concerning youth and facilitated a process in which participants shared their responses to a set of predefined questions.
What were some key takeaways?

- 35+ youth participated from 20 organisations, covering Africa, Asia, Europe, and North America.
- There were 30 pages of 100% youth ideas for the future of education, covering topics such as sustainable futures, the purpose of education, emotional learning, inclusion, learning for social justice, family engagement, and more.
