She has taught in classrooms both walled and wild\u2014from strip malls to the Arctic and Andes\u2014and led over 300 days of wilderness expeditions. These experiences shaped her focus on human\u2013nature connection and a central question: how can billions connect with nature without expeditions? Her work shows that small, nearby nature experiences\u2014especially teacher-led\u2014boost learning, well-being, and environmental responsibility.
