TraceTrek aims to empower youth to debunk misinformation about microplastic pollution and trending food-related health claims through direct, evidence-based investigation. By combining citizen science, critical thinking, and teamwork, participants conduct hands-on experiments that reveal the true impacts of microplastics in both environmental and human health.
The project further fosters collaborative fieldwork and laboratory exploration, encouraging curiosity, ecological awareness, and data literacy. Ultimately, it endorses informed changemakers who engage communities with verified science and promote sustainable, health-conscious choices grounded in truth rather than online speculation.
It made its global debut at the Learning Planet Festival 2026, co-organized by UNESCO and UN University.
