Did you know 98% of 4-5 year olds have a genius level imagination? This is what a NASA study found several years ago.

If you’ve watched this George Land TEDx talk, you’ll have seen that the study also showed that by the time they’re 10 years old, just 30% of children are still at that level of imaginative thinking. And by age 15, this has dropped to 12%.

So what do we do?

Georgia and Ron chose to transform their experience of teaching and learning.  

As a teacher, Georgia wanted learning spaces that were harmonious and that understood and worked with children’s creativity. Ron, a school student at the time, started curiosity clubs where young people could explore, create and lead their own learning.

Thanks to both for sharing their motivation and experience in creating learning spaces centred on curiosity, agency and collaboration where imaginative thinking can thrive.

As a reminder: what is the Circle?

The Circle brings together people exploring and testing imagination programmes, workshops and curriculums inside formal and informal education systems.

Its goal over the next 10 years is to showcase imagination practice in the transformation of education, understand the impact of imagination in classrooms, and build a global knowledge base of imagination in pedagogy.
