Welcome to Information or Misinformation? at Learning Planet Festival 2024!
Have you ever fallen for deep fakes? What about clickbait? These growing forms of misinformation are taking the world by storm. Don’t let yourself become a victim.
This event will introduce participants to misinformation in the real world through a series of engaging games and presentations. Participants will gather in small groups and spread fake and real news among each other, before attempting to differentiate between true and false statements. The biggest Fake News Spreader from each group will then battle it out to find the ultimate Misinformer.
In addition, participants will work together through case studies involving various forms of misinformation and disinformation, including deep fakes and propaganda, to identify the truth behind the lies. Finally, insightful presentations from various youth speakers will provide participants with tools and resources to identify misinformation.
