The pedagogical tradition of the Nordic countries is based on the personality and talents of the learners, not on common goals for everybody. There are things that everybody must learn in the schools of the Nordics, of course, but until the invention of the PISA tests, Nordic schools were doing fine without any tests and with plenty of learning.
After an introduction to pedagogics in the Nordics and the concept of bildung, there will be a discussion about how to stimulate the love of learning instead of killing it.
