Join us for IMAGINE, an animated film blending Indigenous knowledge with cutting-edge technology. Co-created by over 400 people and guided by Indigenous Australian systems changers Jack Manning Bancroft and Tyson Yunkaporta, the film features voices from Taika Waititi, Taylor Schilling, Ian Thorpe, Ndileka Mandela, and more. Following 15-year-old Kim and their alien canine companion Jeff, the story explores identity, freedom and a world on the brink of collapse.
Following successful screenings at Melbourne International Film Festival, Berlin Indie Film Festival, Native Spirit Film Festival, COP30 and more, AIME is thrilled to announce a global cinematic event.
On January 26, 2026, we are hosting an all-day world premiere with online watch option opening up for global audiences on the day, with a focus on in-person gatherings at cinemas in Australia on this divisive day celebrated by some as ‘Australia Day’ and mourned by some as ‘Survival Day’. Cinemas globally will play the film later in the year on World Environment Day, i.e. 5 June 2026.
