The Bhagavadgita, shortly known as the Gita, is a scripture from the Hinduism. It is a treasure of wisdom inherited from a long spiritual tradition known as Sanatana. The wisdom of the Gita is so profound that it has been translated into many languages and it is a popular text among the truth seekers. The teachings of the Gita are the guidelines for people involved in various sectors as they can be employed to address any issues in the world.
Realizing its profoundness and significance in the present context, academic and civic leaders in Nepal initiated Gita4Life Campaign to address global issues. One of the slogans of the campaign is directly concerned with sustainability –The Teachings of the Gita for a Sustainable World. On the auspicious occasion of the International Education Day, the campaign will run a two-day webinar to discuss how the teachings of the Gita can lead to enhanced sustainability. Experts on the teachings of the Gita from the perspective of sustainability will be invited from home and abroad to present their research and observation on the topic, and the teachings of the Gita will be explored further to promote wellbeing of the planet.
