My Ideal World – the power of storytelling

12-keep-going

In December 2022 a diverse group of educators, feminists, activists and artists met at Salzburg Global Seminar for the residential program Education Transformation and Gender: Better Outcomes for Everyone. The final two days of the program were spent in small working groups, one of which was focused on imaginative storytelling. This group developed the original story ‘My Ideal World’ and explored the importance of story telling for making sense of complexity, for bringing allies into a change process and for advocacy. This interactive session will include a first public reading of My Ideal World, including original artwork by Ayomide Solanke, a discussion about the power of story telling and will conclude with a reading from Nigerian poet Karimot Odebode.
