Millions of youth from all around the world face barriers to access and quality of education about sustainability and human geography. In numerous vulnerable populations, limited knowledge and understanding in fields of geography contribute to the rising problem of a generation of youth not equipped with the skillset to combat our global issues as they move into the future. As global climate and sustainability struggles persist, it highlights the urgent need for collaborative efforts from everyone to address systemic issues and ensure that an active effort is dedicated to promoting consciousness and actions toward achieving sustainability
Building upon momentum from Global Goals Week 2024, in this event, youth from around the world will have the opportunity to engage through our PRISM framework, which covers five key elements of Place, Realm, Interdependence, Scale and Mobility. Through a series of activities, including interactive presentations through the PRISM lens, as well as analyzing case studies of a particular application of the framework.
Participants will be encouraged and guided to converse, communicate and share their ideas, exploring ways that they can contribute to helping the future of sustainable development through starting from small to large scale, from local to global.
