Advaith Krishnakumar founded GovInform to achieve this mission – to show people (especially youth) the power of becoming politically active in their local bodies through the simple steps of educating them on important issues and how they can raise concerns. Methods include newsletters, in-person word-of-mouth outreach, interviews and connections with government officials, and social media promotion. GovInform recognizes the intense power of simply knowing how one can aim to make their voice heard in their community, grounded in past examples bringing dozens of citizens together to speak up on certain issues, such as proposed tax increases and budget cuts.
