Panel Description:
As young people move from school to further education and work, their choices are shaped not just by opportunities, but by how coordinated, accessible, and supportive the systems around them are. This panel explores what enables meaningful school-to-work transitions for underserved youth, with a focus on youth agency—choice, voice, and negotiating power.
Bringing together alumni, mentors, programme leaders, and a funder, the discussion will surface lived experiences, trade-offs, and inflection points from India’s school-to-work ecosystem. It will reflect on how information, mentoring, social capital, and institutional support shape young people’s ability to navigate key transition moments.
We hope for participants to leave with concrete insights and practical shifts educators, mentors, funders, and organisations can make to better support youth agency in school-to-work journeys.
