Building Global Learning Communities: World Arts, Altruism, & Problem Solving
Despite the evolution of centuries of our world’s core values being mired in traditions of patriarchy, imperialism, and the constructs of nationalism, racism, and individualism, many if not all of our planet’s most urgent problems of climate, health, and inequity now require the building of Learning Communities, dedicated to creating alternative solutions. By integrating minimally, the values of Artistic Altruism and Scientific innovation, growth-mindedness, cultural humility, and grit, global learning communities of Educators, may now imagine teaching and learning not tied to the outmoded values of our ancient past, but empowered by representation of diverse, cultures, beliefs, and technologies, now imagining Interdisciplinary, creative alternatives to address our World’s current challenges.
After an introduction that discusses innovative learning community initiatives, participants will be asked to collaborate on creative learning alternatives to current world educational concerns.
