We are used to dividing the world into countries and states, but there is another way to look at our planet – and it was never more important to explore this new worldview and teach it to the next generations.

The bioregional map is a scientific concept that divides the Earth into 185 bioregions and 844 ecoregions based on their unique plant, animal and physical characteristics, without considering political boundaries. This helps us to better understand the nature that surrounds us, address environmental issues and improve conservation efforts. The concept of bioregions can also help foster a sense of connectedness between students and the natural world and turn them into stewards of their home towns.

This event introduces biogeography and provides the participant with a post-national worldview. We will share age appropriate methods and materials which can be used free of charge in different educational settings.
